The idea
A community product only works if finding your people feels effortless. That made discovery — not the feed — the centre of the design, and discovery meant maps.
The build
React Leaflet handles the map layer, Redux Toolkit with persistence holds session and filter state, and React Hook Form with schema resolvers keeps the multi-step flows honest without a wall of validation code.
Motion does real work here rather than decoration. GSAP drives the scroll choreography and Lenis smooths the scroll itself, so moving through the discovery view feels continuous instead of stepped.
The admin dashboard is a separate deployment sharing the same tokens and primitives, so the two surfaces never drift apart visually even though they ship independently.
What it taught me
Splitting the product and its dashboard into two apps early was the right call — but only because the design layer was shared from the start. Doing that retroactively would have cost far more than it saved.
